A food label follows the EU food information regulation: name, ingredient list, highlighted allergens, nutrition declaration. Additives may only be used in the food categories and at the levels EU law allows. And a claim like “high fibre” has its thresholds.
One trap among many
“High protein”: at least 20% of energy.
To claim “high protein”, at least 20% of the food’s energy value must come from protein. Below that, the claim is not allowed, even if the bar contains a lot of it.
