A cream, a serum, a shampoo: I check the formula ingredient by ingredient, then I find the lab that makes it.
A cosmetic product is notified on the EU portal before it goes on sale. It needs a responsible person established in the EU and a safety report. Every ingredient is read against the annexes of Regulation 1223/2009: prohibited or restricted substances, colourants, preservatives, UV filters.
One trap among many
“Treats eczema”: the cream becomes a medicine.
A product presented as treating a disease falls under the definition of a medicinal product, whatever its formula. The claim alone changes the rules that apply.

The safety report is drawn up by an assessor qualified in pharmacy, toxicology, medicine or a similar discipline. I do not sign it: I plan for it in the timeline from the start.
